London, April 6th: Minesoft took part in several Intellectual Property events in the first quarter of 2015, showcasing the very latest patent information products updates to international audiences of IP professionals in Europe

Encouraging innovation in Ecuador

Business Development Manager Olivier Huc travelled to Guayaquil in Ecuador in January to deliver a patent searching workshop as part of a training course for the national network of Technology and Innovation Support Centers (TISCS). Organised by WIPO in conjunction with the Ecuadorian Institute of Intellectual Property (IEPI), the Workshop was attended by a mix of patent examiners from the IEPI and patent searchers from TISCs throughout Ecuador including universities, chambers of commerce and research centres. The global TISC network has been established by WIPO to provide innovators in developing countries with access to technology and IP information services and expert knowledge.

Olivier also gave an interview to ANEPI, the news agency promoting IP in Ecuador, to explain more about the training and the importance of patent information in general.

Patent information priorities at IPI Confex

The 12th annual International Patent Information Conference and Exposition (IPI-ConfEx) took place in March in Rome. Over the course of 4 days nearly 200 delegates gathered to discuss best practices in patent information management and searching through a programme of expert presentations, knowledge exchange sessions and patent information vendor demonstrations. Minesoft delivered a well-attended Workshop focusing on recent enhancements to PatBase – their global patent database co-produced with RWS Group – including the powerful new integrated PatBase Analytics software.

Showcasing patent solutions in South Asia

Minesoft Directors Rahman Hyatt and Jochen Lennhof spent 2 weeks in South Asia in March for a series of meetings and events in Japan and Singapore. Two User Days, organised by Minesoft’s distributor in Japan, RWS Group, provided the chance to update users on the latest features and coverage in PatBase, while Rahman and Jochen also had a hectic schedule of meetings with large corporations, law firms and state patent offices throughout the region.

The trip ended with the inaugural ‘Information Tools for IP and Intelligence’ conference held in Clarke Quay, Singapore and organised by longstanding information industry experts Infonortics. Minesoft presented their PatBase Analytics and PatentArchive solutions at the conference which was strongly focused on identifying the latest and most effective tools available for IP and competitive intelligence.
