UK ranked world-leader in innovation

The UK was yesterday named the second most innovative country in the world according to the Global Innovation Index (GII) 2015, maintaining its 2014 ranking. Switzerland, Sweden, the Netherlands and the U.S.A share the top five spots. The GII highlights the key role of innovation as a driver of economic growth and prosperity, using indicators including the level and quality of research and development output and the number of international patent applications filed to determine a country’s innovation status.
