The Minesoft team were pleased to have a recent article published in WIPR Annual 2017; co-authored by Tim Campbell, Vice President and Rob Poolman, Senior Manager, Innovation and Consulting.
The article highlights some of the functionalities within PatBase which make it easier for users to conduct a reliable patent landscape report. Search capabilities such as Semantic Searching and the PatBase Thesaurus discover concepts and keywords that might have otherwise been missed. In addition, once a search has been implemented, tools such as TextMine and advanced highlighting enable users to drill down into patent documents and unearth relevant information, fast.
Users can visualise their landscape search through statistical graphs in PatBase Analytics which can be shared easily with colleagues and/or clients, regardless of whether or not they are PatBase users.
It is vital for any innovation-driven industry to carry out regular patent landscape reports to identify gaps, monitor competitor activity and identify acquisition, licensing or collaboration opportunities. Having access to a high quality data set within a robust search and analysis platform is the key first step to a consistent patent landscape report. Over the past 12 months, Minesoft have significantly enhanced the data included within PatBase to ensure our users have access to the most comprehensive set of patent data within the industry. Our full text patent coverage has now been increased to over 43 authorities.
